Belly & Heart is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish, specifically the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We recognize the effects that colonization and colonialism has had, and continues to have on food sovereignty, community health and cultural food practices of Indigenous peoples locally and across Turtle Island. We also recognize the continuation, resurgence, and resilience of local Indigenous food practices, traditions and land-based knowledge, and seek to be in solidarity with this important work.
